The internet / social media age is at a cost. Individuality, imagination, creativity and independence are the biggest casualties.

I agree with this. Creativity, negotiation, and leadership skills learned in the open play of our childhood are being replaced by strict structure and compliance with a “rule giver”. I fear the outcome will be dystopian.

I live in the country, a few years my kids were outside playing man-tracker for the whole weekend, before bed they talked about the game and laughed and sleep like logs.

Hitting the nail on the head Dept: The “digital generation” is learning conformity to the rules unless you have a cheat code that gets you ahead. Talk about recipes for totalitarianism.

It does not have to be this way. Games are more dumbed down now then before. At the same time the best games these days are single player. This needs to change I have plans for that my self but not any time soon. Hopefully someone comes a long sooner.

With games like Cities Skylines, Civilization, Minecraft, and so on, I don’t think you need to worry about kids and their imaginations. Negotiation, on the other hand....

And that there's definitive rules that govern how one uses their creativity, i.e., how physical objects are effected in the world. Video games are not governed by these rules.
