Been saying something similar for decades. A child is under no obligation or respect or love the parents. Anyone can become a parent, ejaculate or give birth, the easiest and most natural thing to do. You need to act and be a good parent to earn that.

Those elders who were really bad to you don't really need to be in your life. I should know. Respect is a two way street. Caring for our children is important. It's no wonder Native Americans think they didn't inherit the land form their parents, they borrowed it from their kids

I cannot just give it freely it must earned, although a minimum of respect is a usual courtesy and especially if someone is over 50+ years, and usually if they do not act like an idiot, that leaves out most folks on internet.
