Choice: 1. Institutions are inherently racist, sexist, oppressive. Or, 2. Give institutions even more power in our lives because government knows best.

No way!! The govt needs to ease off and allow the wealthy to achieve their aims and perhaps encourage them to contribute more to charitable causes.

I understand the need to have some sort of restrictions in place like you can't have people just making moonshine and everyone going blind. But too much regulation makes it harder for people to be entrepreneurs.

Solution is for people to stop complaining & pick themselves up, graduate from HS. Go to tech school or be an apprentice or go to college & get to work! Kids today have $500 cell phones, $200 shoes & jeans, $500 concert tickets; BMW's & many aren't rich, they have parents!

We need to return to the tax rate of the 50s and adjust for inflation. https://www.tax-brackets.org/federaltaxtable/1955 …

Except, depending on what you’re talking about, government power is the west has declined overall e.g. the dissolution of monarchies and empires.

I thought wealth inequality was an "acceptable" symptom of free market capitalism? Yet when wealth is used to leverage government power, capitalists suggest the issue is government, not wealth. Have you changed your position on this?

When you give power hungry people the government "gun" to use on people they will exploit it. Wealth isn't immoral, as in a free market no one can forcibly coerce another into action. They have to sell the other something they find valuable.
