"If you don't give a dog a job, it will come up with a bad job." Humans too, as evidenced by the past forty years. This is the time span that people refer to as "our generation," because we're not allowed to each have our own individual generations ever since then.

People complete their degrees, they fill out their applications, they work their slew of free hours "for experience" - and at some point they might even be compensated in some small way. But then red tape shuts down their employer for the benefit of 21st century aristocracy.

The Fourth Turning is coming.

We're in an age of transition from one which required fierce competition to one that requires broad cooperation for survival, which most civilizations eventually enter. We've never been able to make the transition because we're so practiced at competition. It's a thought habit.
