Coincidence? During Holy Week with all the recent church fires across France and the rest of the EU?

Might not have been related to “hot work “( ie cutting welding ). Could have been other sources such as rags soaked in solvent that self combusted, metal shavings that self ignited, electrical fire due to short circuit of temp power cords. Many possibilities. All preventable

Mistakes happen though. My friends crew burnt down an Apple building in Cupertino because welding blankets weren’t placed properly. Come to think of it, I bet he doesn’t feel so bad now.

I agree. Any project of this magnitude is going to have layers of safety protocols to ensure a work accident doesn't 'burn down the house.' I doubt they picked up illegals at Home Depot to do this roof repair.

It is refreshing to see that you are willing to entertain the notion that it might not be arson.

The cathedrals in England have modern, automatic sprinkler systems. This is criminal negligence.

I’m in construction Stefan. We have safety watches as well. To be honest nobody really takes that job to seriously because 99% of the time nothing happens after welding or hot work.
