I've actually seen a lot of hard Lefties talk about the utter economic trap that is the modern college, but especially American college, system. I'm rather interested in what specific angle discussions took to make it seem as if Marxists didn't hate corporate schools.

The same could be returned to economic liberals. The French revolution precise goal was the seizure of the means of production to the bourgeoisie. How is that better?

I disagree Stefan. Although I am in debt from my many degrees, I have left university a more articulate person. It has also opened my eyes to the Marxist exploitation, but I am better equipped to fight it. In life we all have debts, don't discount education.

I'm starting to realize something, over the years. Its crystallizing now. There are no values. Only sophistry. There is only one value, if any. That is capital. Whatever I can monetize. What religious ppl call "sin", is the most "virtuous". Sin has highest profit margins.
-
Eh, reductionist philosophy carries it forward a bit further than that. Capital itself is only bargaining chip for social power, as capital has no inherent worth outside of trade. Social power is an extension of personal capability, and capability is just an extension of will.
-
Makes sense; although capability can't be just an extension of will. Sometimes, it has to be accidental, I would think. But thanks to Mr Molyneux. He did help me realize, what fundamentally, there is no difference between any ideology, its all just an argument for capital.
-
Well, personally-driven capability isn't driven by will, it's moreso enabled by it. I think there are sociological differences between ideologies, but they all ultimately pursue resources and security, and the major differences are their 'moral' qualities and favored cultures.
-
Couldn't formulate any better my self. We are in agreement sir =D
-
I may not politically favor Mr. Molyneux, but I'm always happy to find another political realist out there. I try to aim for ideals, but the only way to do that is to guard your philosophy with realistic expectations - sugar-fluff ideologies don't protect themselves for long.
-
I find one thing very amusing in the West, Pride and hatred, disguised as a virtue. The Europeans invaded and killed my ancestors, on grounds what we worshiped Jesus wrongly (They where Catholic). Then they invaded and killed us, on grounds of ideology, today they just hate us.
-
Well, speaking in monolithic "they"s is always dangerous because there will ultimately be people who exist outside of that rule. Moreover, I think that's just a common trait among human imperialism - justification always follows. However, you have my condolences for your people.

Gov't debt isnt like personal debt. To many degrees it's good for govt to have some levels of debt, although I agree it's too high... I think this is an important note to keep in mind when discussing national debt
