Philosophy keeps the mind sharp

There is no room for philosophy in a consumer driven mutually self assured suicide ... metaphorically or literaly... we are a nation whom has long chosen stupidity... so escape has become the only option...

I agree...Text/words have too many avenues of interpretation- speaking translates a clearer message point of thought. No wonder a picture is worth a thousand words.

The oral tradition of philosophy allowed interactions with the listeners (questions, precisions, etc)... modern technologies allow that only if the creators play along and participate (as you often do). So not quite the original state... but close enough.

The left recognizes the power of the spoken word and that's why when not throwing bleach at speakers, they protest free speech, sabotage live speaking events and attempt to have these events cancelled at all costs.

You ever wonder what of their works we have lost? Wasn't there supposedly many of the philosophical greats writings stored at the Library of Alexandria? It's pointless I guess, but I often wonder what else they must've written about & if there's some chance it's still out there

Agree 100%. Its like an artist who taps into the ether. Many times while discussing deeply important issues I’ve been complimented on some profound insight. I tell them “I heard it for the first time just now the same as you” even though I spoke the words.

That is because issues of morality are better expressed with emotion.
