Manning’s sentence was commuted, not pardoned. Some confuse this for a pardon which absolves the individual from guilt. While there is legal precedence against double jeopardy, Ball v. United States (1886), there is not for two separate individuals, committing similar crimes.
Can someone explain to me why Julian Assange is being charged for a crime that Chelsea Manning was already released from prison for?
