    Not true at all. Ideological opposites. First death camp was for socialists and communists. Night of the long knives killing off political rivals ie socialists. Most of their markets were privatized. Hitler said he was taking on Jewish Marxism. This is hilariously wrong.

        During the Spanish Civil War the Communists rounded up, and fought against, both the POUM (Marxists, who they accused or being fascists) and Anarchists. Internecine rivalry is the default position of socialists.

        Central planning is not socialism. A combination of industrialists and politicians controlling an economy with waged work, production and selling for profit etc is not socialism. The entire society collectively owning and controlling the means of production, IS socialism.
