Women transmit cultural values to their kids. Daycares don’t. Government schools sure as hell don’t. Women worked in the past for sure, but with their kids around them. They didn’t dump them in daycare for 10+ hours a day.https://twitter.com/JessieJaneDuff/status/1078006178326601728 …

Exactly my point. Stefan singled out working mothers as the reason western civilization collapsed. Since the beginning of time, working class mothers raised children and worked. How about lack of God & fathers, drug addiction, welfare dependence, alcoholism, etc. Need I continue?

Honestly, I truly believe that women (traditionally) end up with the better end of the bargain.  They have been able to stay home hanging around people they totally love and doing literally *the most important work* in the entire world of forming tomorrow’s citizens.

And SOMEHOW modernity thinks it would be better for women if they left that important work behind and join annoying, frustrating, morally challenging, and sometimes downright despicable environment of the “rat race” so they can make money instead of form souls.  Yea, whatever.

Women often gathered so children of same age could socially interact. But if most women decide to have no children or put them in daycare even for families where mother decide to stay home there is little alternative then to put child in daycare. Personal experience.

I stay at home with my little ones and it's very lonely during the day. It really depends on where you live. I used to live in a neighborhood where most of the women stayed at home or homeschooled so it was better. (DC suburb where husbands all make six figures)

Now wives take the pill until their late thirties, early forties, expecting their bodies to magically start doing what they've been telling it not to do for decades so they can have a baby when their careers are ready, only to send said baby to the sitter six weeks post birth.

I was in daycare from six months to nine years. Thankfully, I spent my summers with my great grandmother, and was heavily exposed to my great aunts and uncles, who exemplified good values to me. Because of that, I stayed home to raise my children, and make a home for my family.

The silent economic inflation of the late 70’s in the US was that moms went to work. Wages went up but it took two incomes in 1980 to buy the same groceries that one income would buy in 1970.

Sadly, government schools do manage to transmit some cultural values and enforce a measure of peer-transmission, Lord of the Flies style.

We women are so "strong" that we bought in to the lie that our God-given ability to nurture a family was "keeping us down", and that we'd be better served working all day while our children want for us and our husbands go unattended.

Lived on a street w/ 3 lawyer families. They all took kids to daycare from 7am to 6pm. The kids were being brought up by "the pack" - used to come to our door asking for food...

Home schooling? Definitely an attractive option ... although I'd also consider the benefits og exposing kids to the insanity of modern world so they're psychically prepared to resist it from an early age. Or is that wishful thinking?

This is a dilemma I grapple with... Especially the rate of moral and ethical decay that our society is experiencing... it is a real conundrum.

I believe the switch in perception of male protector to authoritarian in the nuclear households where women were extensions of matriarchal lines, with extensive, respected housekeeping traditions, wet nursing skills that all have been commercialized, changed western values.

Times were different when we grew up. When mom worked, she expected us to keep house, do chores, etc. She made time to SEE that we did our homework. Most parents have unplugged, thinking the schools know best!
