Bingo. Canadians say their healthcare is "free" but pay on average $12000/year per person in taxes for it. It's great for boilerplate health problems but if they need special care they come to the US.

had to get an MRI for my worrisome headaches. Was told the MRI was scheduled a year and a half in the future. Went to the only private clinic in Vancouver, paid them $800 bucks and did the MRI the next day.

I have the VA too. I don't think my doctor graduated in the top of the class and only made it through med school due to quotas...

Both my parents have been victims of life-threatening medical incompetence in Denmark. No repercussions for the doctors, and since it’s the only hospital within 100 km., they have no other options.

In
hospitals very serious acute illnesses (cancer, heart attack, stroke, etc) are treated quickly and well (many patients comment about that). But, chronic, non-life-threatening conditions do take a long time for specialist visits and definitive treatment. -

I had catrsotafic healthcare before Obamacare because of my age! My last MRI was $1300 in 2005! A local orthopedic surgery offers them for $350 because they won't embrace social medicine! Lasik and cosmetic surgery are cheaper!

Dental costs are also less when you pay cash than using insurance because of bloated beuacracy!
