I cant think of any context in my lifetime when a PR campaign was not required for the US military getting involved. Only things I can think of are overthrowing *dictators* in banana republics.

Describe the Military solution: Military bases every 5 miles for 2000 miles? Platoons stationed every mile? Helicopters playing Wagner?

US has about 800 military bases world wide. US southern boarder is 1954 miles. We could put one every 2.44 miles. It would probably cost us far less than what we are spending keeping them in other countries

I think "invasion" is commonly used in military contexts; it is also used in entomology and medicine to mention only two others. It has a wide variety of applications.
