Stages of the welfare state: 1. “We will end poverty in our lifetime!” 2. “We just need a little more money...” 3. “Poverty is increasing!” 4. “If we cut welfare, people won’t vote for us.” (Taxes so high = high IQ births plummet) 5. “JUST KEEP PAYING SO PEOPLE DON’T RIOT!”

What’s your opinion on automation that will put the majority of the population out of a job? Is welfare or some sort of UBI a possible answer for the masses of people that are incapable of adapting to jobs that are for higher IQ individuals?
Cut taxes, rely on the productivity of the robots and the charitable generosity of fellow citizens. Whenever taxes are lowered, private charity increases.

Altruism goes down with ethnic fragmentation either is paid over taxes or voluntary. Most non-western cultures don´t have a civil society or help for those in need, -non-related are seen as strangers. Harvard prof. A.Alesina and E.Glaeser have several studies of this.

Isn’t that just wishful thinking though? Humans are naturally selfish and I doubt charity will be able to sustain tens of millions of people who are incapable of working in a technologically advanced society.
