It's common problem in all western countries. In Finland the police is whining about lack of resources to investigate hard crime and at the same time they increase their "hate speech" patrolling.

That is exactly how the British police operate. They run away from hardened criminals, especially if they are from minority groups. Increasing number of 5ft female "officers" doesn't help.

For the same reason I always see traffic enforcement pulled over with a single elderly driver, and conspicuously ignore the wagon of bangers that go blazing by. Low hanging fruit, baby.

Feel a reckoning swelling across the pond. France is just the start. May God be with them.

That woman isn't nice. But I'd rather police not get involved like this.

You need some neutral lawful knuckle heads that don't mind getting hurt but have restraint if that balance exists to provide an alternative law enforcement. Not some socially acceptable but not civilly deviant to wade in the muck
