The supremacy debate exists because we have empathy and when we discuss the past we all feel bad about horrible things such as slavery. Even if there is no history of slavery in one's family we still feel bad. This guilt is easily exploited. Every culture owned slaves.

Only white people feel guilty for it though. Blacks had slaves, more whites were slaves to blacks in Europe than blacks in America. Do black people feel bad about this? Do they care that blacks owned other blacks in Africa? Nope. Do they care about the current slaves?
