I’m glad you articulated that idea, because I’ve realized the same thing. It’s a modern day inquisition that praises itself for advancing above superstition, when in reality it replaced one for another.

Except blasphemy is quite fixed in its meaning. What constitutes hate speech changed three times while I took a dump this morning. Not saying I'm for blasphemy laws, but if they existed you would always know what kind of speech they applied to.
