What is wrong with letting people into the country based on merit? Colleges do that correct? Colleges do this because they want only the best. This should be different for a country?

Exactly. Automation is increasing everyday. And like all tech, it has a snowballing affect. Soon data entry and trucking will be automated to the point that 10s of millions of Americans will be outta work. Less ppl we take in now means less ppl outta work later.

Don't we want to steal the smart motivated people from all other nations so they can never compete with the USA and at the same time leave all the problems for others to take care of? I thought that was the point to keep are engine of success at maximum output?

What about people with unique experience in areas that the US lacks?

Would probably want a few of each. But that's not that many compared to taking in economic refugees. But if we get space expansion we may want everyone because we have endless land to settle but probably only for dangerous off world jobs.

No we do not need anyone else from outside Britain. Over 87% of UK graduate jobs have been taken by foreign scum. if they are so clever make why can't they make work in thier own countries.

their collectivistic culture is the problem. They perceive the individual-vs-collectivity dynamic very differently. And they vote accordingly.

@ShaunPBrown As if the native populations are not enough. if you replace the population of poland with the population in japan, you'll no longer have polish values & culture in poland nor japanese values & culture in japan.
