So you are implying with your weird logic that Europe was always weak & relying upon Asia to provide direction. Got lucked out after Middle ages & started conquering & proselytizing & got successful in the process at right moment

Normans outlawed most of slavery in England after their conquest there in 1066.

For a long time they didn’t have civilization. They had to invade the Middle East for it.

Well as slavery is documented in Europe from the Greek Empire to the end of the Roman Empire, that is not strictly true. The big difference to other slave cultures is that the slaves were overwhelmingly White and not of African origin.

Honestly I see all those "servents" in the dark ages as slaves. People still remembered the life under Rome, as myths and stories. I believe they knew Romans had slaves and as soon someone got powerfull enough during that time, he likely got some slaves too...
