So ADHD peaked in 1907 the year of the highest US immigration?

Wacky idea, maybe kids with ADHD, before it was a diagnosis, quit school and went to work physical labor jobs instead, because everyone believed they were “dumb”. Ditto any type of learning disability.

I also think there’s a correlation btwn taking both parents out of the home and putting kids in school too early. Boys esp need the early yrs to play/explore/be outside and when we put them in school we are asking them to sit still/be quiet/stay inside instead.

Growing up in the '70's , ADHD wasn't even a thing . We ran around and played till we collapsed

That was my experience though I don’t know if I’d have tied it with immigration...government schooling regardless. Covered ADHD and my experience on my show. You may appreciatehttps://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/defining-dad-bod/id1303273193?mt=2&i=1000425036630 …

Anecdote - I was diagnosed with ADHD in elementary school. The early grade work was rediculously simple, and I always finished class work early. Instead of being bumped ahead, I got sent to the back of class for busy work, where I just goofed off and was "disruptive"

Same thing happened to me.

That is a stretch

Yeah I’m sure there are more rational factors. This just seems like nonsense. However I do think school has been dumbed down.

I never thought about it that way. Do you think if the students were challenged more, they will not developer ADHD?

I’ve discovered that staying busy is key for me too. In fact, I actually track my activities on my phone to ensure I keep busy every day.

Of course, you have no data to back up this assertion. I don't even know if you can call it a correlation/causation fallacy, as immigration has decreased while ADHD diagnoses increased. Further, increases were consistent across all racial demographics, not just "white boys".

What else was introduced in the 90s...think food supply and the host of health issues since then.
