We either burn prehistoric plants, dead dinosaurs or live trees. Or split atoms. Without energy, hundreds of millions die. Do you want to help the environment? Cut immigration and government spending.

Let's split atoms. By far the best option.

For now. We should be pouring money into research into fusing them.

No, we should do both. Fission works, and it works very well and it can work a lot better with better technology. Fusion would be great, it's worth studying, it's worth pursuing. However we shouldn't put all our eggs in that basket.

Even if we imagine nuclear has no problems whatsoever it’s still massively dependent on government subsidies to even exist. They’re too expensive for energy corporations to bother building them

Not True. Contracts are being signed by Rosatom the world over to build Nuclear Plants in places like Egypt, Turkey, and India. Places that don't have massive subsidies to give. U.S. regulation on nuclear should be less stringent and advanced Gen 4 reactors are needed.

Yes far less regulation. On equipment which produces contamination and radiation. Regulations are written because of lessons learned. I know. I worked on on both S6G and S8G power plants.

Look up how much of total Energy comes from renewables. Hint: single digit %. Replacing fossil and biomass for solar and wind will make current debt load look like pocket change. Today global debt is 320% of GDP.

Why not go nuclear for 1/100 the price and 1/100,000 the sq milage and have the best of both worlds? Nuclear generates about 1000x the power of wind and solar except it does so at night with no wind, in the winter, rain etc. There is no sustainable future without nuclear energy.

There is enough energy in splitting atoms to power the planet for 10,000 years. And that is just what we have available to us now without mining another gram of Uranium or Thorium. #GreenNuclearDeal

Like Taco Bell, I find this hard to swallow. Aren't oil wells are miles apart? And you would think it would take decades for millions of gallons to drip through rock. Plus there's just way to much oil to get from plankton and dinosaur meat. I think it comes from the earths core.
