Domesticated dog breeds differ by only 0.15% of their genes – a far lower level of genetic variation than between human groups. In other words, “poodle,” “dachshund,” and “alsatian” are just social constructs.

Variations between dogs were forced by humans so yes social constructs. They are still of the same "race". Plus it's a total kick to the teeth to your point because even though genetically the variation is lower than humans, they are far more distinct between breeds.

dogs are afforded group behaviour because they are dogs and those variations are targeted and bred. Even though humans have existed longer than variations in dogs the difference between dogs is more because the variation is forced. Isn't this common knowledge?

Do you assume there was never “targeted breeding” among human populations? Also if we are saying that breeding and genes are responsible for differences in appearance and behavior between dog breeds amd they have less genetic variation then why are humans 100% the same with more?

Humans are not hundred percent the same and humans have undergone more variations than dogs but what make dogs widely different is not the variations but the target breeding. But all this doesn't add to the undertone of Stefan's message because for him bc for him blacks are...

He always qualifies himself as well careful to remind people NOT to judge individuals based on groups. I am not sure i agree with Stef on the issue but i def support it being brought up without straw-men or cries of racism.

Genetic variation between dog breeds (Fst metric is about twice that of humans actually (humans about 0.15, dogs about 0.30). Cats shows a value about the same as humans. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0888754307002078 … https://www.nature.com/articles/ng.2007.10 …pic.twitter.com/q0QR3QPZKO
