Because the USA was the most capitalist country in history? Same reason why North Korea is a hell hole and South Korea is one of the better countries in the planet. But your first point is correct, blaming colonialism of 200 years ago for issues today with countries is absurd.

yes but capitalism is an economic/social system that didn't appear out of the blue. you can't just bring up 'capitalism' as if it was a gift of god, disregarding the fact that capitalism as we know it developed by specific peoples as part of a specific civilization (the west)...

Don't forget about economic freedom too, Stef (at least for the long-term). The USA had quite a bit of economic freedom to invent and make businesses back in the day, at least, though I suppose I am thinking of post-colonial years here mainly.
