Because, prior to that, Arabs were building the foundation for the industrial revolution through chemistry, math, etc. Do you not understand that technological growth is incremental/over time, and not a sudden "aha, I have invented the internet out of rocks" kind of thing?
Are these the same Arabs that basically killed tens of millions of black slaves?

Between the 7th and 15th century those nations who were under Islamic rule suffered around 200 million dead..... 80 million dead in the Indian subcontinent 110 million blacks mostly from the African continent who where taken as slaves and subsequently where killed.
