We've been doing this with public education for decades. It's so sad that people can't connect the dots. The only difference is that schooling through the age of 17 or 18 is government-mandated, which makes it all the more questionable.

Free college, as the wall increasingly seems to be at this point, is purely a campaign ploy. Sounds good. No practical way to pull it off without upsetting millions of people and powerful institutions.

6. Kids graduate with a worthless degree, requiring them to pay for graduate school, then graduating with debt anyway. And now they are nearly 30 years old looking for their first job.

We already do fund it. All universities should be cut off of funding. Give the grant money on to the students who are academically capable of taking a course that will provide a profession.
