Isn't it part of human nature the need to belong to a tribe? Sports teams, schools, hobby's, churches, religions, dog race, areas in cities, companies, brands even within photography there is a nikon, Sony, Fuji and Canon Tribe. Aren't tribes just everywhere?

It REALLY depends on the country's cultural factors. Massive and diverse inmigration to Argentina beginning of XX Century did not provoke tribalism. Nobody recognizes oneself as their ancestors' origins; everyone is simply and plainly an argentine.

Well, you could say there was a national identity but it surely changed after that. By early 1900s almost 40% of the population were inmigrants.

It depends on what you mean by diversity. Diversity of foundational values? Skin color? Religion? Culture? Sometimes diversity can strengthen a population, sometimes not. You’ll need to provide your working definition and criteria.

Tribalism is the only reality that exists. The only regime that could maintain and grow European Nations are Kingdoms and Christian Theocracies. Fascism was only a prelude to it.
