Anecdotal from personal experience: the vast majority of childless women I know have pets - far more than childless men. There could be many reasons for this, but I always wonder if part of the reason is many women's desire to be mothers.

And the worst part is society demeaning the single most important job, being a wife, mother and heart of the family. Those that sacrifice everything for this are the heros of a healthy culture. A mans duty is to sacrifice himself so a women has that choice.

being a mother isn't a job, it's a biological imperative as a huamn animal. women have had kids millions of years. they also labored side by side in tribal setting. they only difference today is getting paid for it.... sacrificing is for the family unit. drivel & ego.
