2/2 treatment of slaves was often worse and the fact that, once they became dependent, they would threaten to enslave traders who did not have sufficient supply, leading to the forced creation of more "product" (horrible way to view people btw) All around, the users were worse.

I think it is more he is willing to cherry pick arguments that are quicker for him to answer than anything else. Of course it is easier to address fallacious reasoning and attacks than it is to address the nuanced substantive arguments.
