In Canada at least, another big issue is the previous generation propping up the house prices using foreign investors/immigrants. I'm not buying there 1 bedroom house for 800,000 plus.

Lets tackle both at the same time. Eliminate taxation entirely and sell off all gov't assets to private companies to pay down their debt. Why should any private citizen of a nation pay back on the debt made by gov't?
