Dont forget the million or so NW Europeans abducted and enslaved by the luxury yachts from the Barbary Coast (thats the South Coast of the Mediterranean). Definitely white slaves sharing their suffering w black Africans.

It's the fact that they had different language, values and traditions. That's a simple historical fact and not an opinion Western Civilization saw the underdeveloped civilizations and thought "they don't have our same values so they're basically animals" and this slavery was born

I never said that Southern Europeans weren't White. But of a different shade of White than Northern Europeans due to climate difference. The Mediterranean regions of Southern Europe is hotter & drier than Northern Europe. Of course slavery wasn't about skin color.

Or, for that matter, the same skin color as the northern Caucasus region slaves. But there’s also that little matter of the Arabic word for black Africans being the same word they use for “slave”. Language always tells.

It wasn't skin color that made them easy prey, but the capturing of them by their own people to make make a buck from wealthy slave shoppers

.... It happened at the same time as rich West Africans were selling their fellow men to White slave traders. But not as many as to Arab traders. And only a few percent of the slaves went to North America.
