That famine was a manufactured famine. The food resources were shipped off to Britain. 4 million people died in Bengal, India due to this

Well the Bengal Famine is complicated as there were other factors at play. I wouldn't blame Churchill entirely. However no doubt that the famine didn't bothered the British empire. Colonialism by itself is net negative although there were some positives to colonialism.
