Also the atrocities the British did in China, India and South Africa ... they are the inventors of the Concentration camps during the Boer War were they imprisioned women and children , or in India where they starved millions to death, or the drug ( opium) wars against China

That famine was a manufactured famine. The food resources were shipped off to Britain. 4 million people died in Bengal, India due to this

How will millions of people fight for you without food & supplies ? But when famine strikes during that time people die because crown is important. There were free food stations that covered some parts where famine was severepic.twitter.com/mrKIEAO6yY

Wikipedia has an extensive entry. The war was the last straw. But conditions had detiorated over decades. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bengal_famine_of_1943 …

The buried lead here: government managed economy starved people to death. Big surprise. South Africa and Rhodesia sent men and loads of material while still feeding their own people. The results of decolonization are mixed, and their failures and success have many lessons.

There was also the great famine of 1876-1878. It had of course several factors. But it was greatly worsened by the British having focused on opium production instead of food as well as by them diverting a lot of resources to their war effort in Afghanistan.

It's documented in Roosters of the Apocalypse. Similar to the Irish famine. British decided very deliberately to do nothing while still exporting food from India. Influence of Malthus and eugenics movement.

Concentration camps were invented by the Spanish in Cuba during the 10 yr war India famine - far more mis-management due to prioritising the War Effort than intentional genocide. The Opium Wars were a bit naughty, but mainly East India Company, not British Government.
