Libya continues the practice, because the West provided support to the slave traders, because they didn’t like the previous guy.

Hmm. And this occurred in the previous administration, but I’d rather the US stop meddling overseas, & I served in the Navy for almost 7 years. My sister retired as a Chief in the Navy. My brother went through the Academy. We can project power with our carriers, if we have to.
