I don’t know, I think not spanking is exactly what has given us aoc and her ilk.

I agree with Michelle. My Dad doled out our punishment just right- and we all knew it. Never abusive. And we behaved! I got it twice. The thought of it way worse than the actuality
(and I deserved it) -
I got it too with consistency and that was fair in that I knew what to expect if I acted up!!
-
It’s the spoiled kids we see in the mall that is the real problem
-
Yea maybe more disciplining of these kids would stop them from grabbing a gun and shooting people by teaching them physical and emotional discipline through corporal punishing. Cause they will get whooped anyway in public if they act up by someone

Every single one of my friends that don’t or didn’t spank their kids; their kids are pretty bad or outright awful.

I love both of you, but abandoning your children in the woods with a knife, compass & map home, and wolf skin for warmth is only way to insure they build enough character to grow to be upstanding and independent members of society.

Oh great - more abuse of the term "narcissist". No you can't create narcissists by withholding physical violence - but you just might by withholding unconditional love.

Sorry, Stefan. . . she's right. The violence of snowflake 'protests' and Antifa are the result of parent-as-friend instead of parent-as-teacher-and-disciplinarian. The fastest way to cure a kid of biting is to bite them back.

I think that a physical punishment sometimes is needed when you can't reasoning with them is to no avail. If they're repeating behavior, and you do it in a manner that's gentle and out of love, not acting out of anger.

I have two great young adults that were never spanked... Deprive from privileges is a better punishment...

Put me on the long list of people who were spanked and turned out fine, those seem to outweigh anyone who was really messed up by it.

Maybe an Urban myth , but; When Finland outlawed parents public ally spanking their children a whole generation of kids grew up fearing lifts (elevators)
-
Maybe coincidentally, but was it about the same time this movie gem was released?pic.twitter.com/UgLpWgb5R6
-
Probably a coincidence, unless the plot entailed her trying to get away from her parents !!

Spanking has one important use: it is a replacement pain to connect an action that would yield a more severe pain/physical harm. Anything else it's the wrong approach
