The whites did not “kill off the natives.” There were some battles of course, but it was mostly smallpox. And the natives gave whites syphilis and smoking. Muslims had 20 TIMES the number of black slaves - did they become rich? Please stop this anti-white garbage.https://twitter.com/strangermartell/status/1093386359144894464 …

Come on. You know it’s not because it’s a white country but rather the governments. You can argue that the only reason USA is a white country is because the whites killed off all the natives and had all the blacks as slaves for a few hundred years.

This land was destined to be conquered, whether it be by the British, French, Spanish, etc. They’re lucky that we gave them reservations. It’s a sad truth.

No, they did not kill off the natives, but it wasn't for lack of trying. What about the dead kids in "civilized schools"? The hundreds of native women missing today? By the way, you're welcome for tabacco,it's our way of thanking you for the smallpox filled blankets.

It’s not as if the settlers understood that small pox could be transmitted via objects such as blankets. Germ theory wasn’t accepted until around 1850.

Sir Jeffery Amherst, commander of British forces in North America, wrote July 7, 1763: "Could it not be contrived to Send the Small Pox among those Disaffected Tribes of Indians? We must, on this occasion, Use Every Stratagem in our power to Reduce them."

Europeans deliberately gave the native americans blankets from smallpox patients which resulted in whole tribes being wiped out.

Right because the germ theoryof disease was sooooooo prevalent back then

It doesn't have to be prevalent. It only takes a basic medical knowledge to know that smallpox was contagious as it proved by Edward Jenner in the late 1700s. I learnt that in high school.

Another disease played a major role. Without malaria and other mosquito borne illnesses reaching the Americas, there would have been no reason to go to the expense of importing African slaves rather than buying from the very willing natives.

The demography of the Americas today would be quite different if those mosquitoes didn't infest trading vessels or if effective treatment had been available.

Exactly right. Now, the Spanish in Mexico, Central America, and S America is probably a different story, since they waged a campaign of conquest to acquire gold. But certainly in what became the US and Canada, the spread of European diseases was inadvertent and tragic.

Actually disease was responsible for most of the indigenous people's deaths in central & south america. Thousands if not millions had been killed off before Europeans even got into most areas

Perhaps so. I’ve heard much about the conquistadors and their bloody campaign of subjugation and looting of gold. It makes sense that diseases they carried would be devastating too.

Thanks to Archeology we know the "natives" were busy wiping each other out for 10,000 years before the first white person ever stepped foot on North America. And since they had no metallurgy or firearms they did it the old fashioned way...blunt objects and sharp rocks.
