Income inequality is ok. Little Bill & Tom are watching TV they see a toy they want but but have no money. Bill asks dad if he can borrow a bucket. He spends the rest of the day washing cars. Bill asks Tom if he wants to come. Nah I want to watch tv. Bill now has $20. Is this ok?

Remember when your parents would tell you the world isn’t fair? What happened to those? I’m still telling my kids life isn’t fair

The man had a way with words... also with owning slaves, but I imagine that Jackson's slave ownership was instructive it its own way in regards to the abuses of government.

Some people can earn some of those things. Your life isn't determined at birth Stefan. Things like singing voices or physical beauty can be earned. It's never a fair starting point, but hard work and dedication can pay off tremendously.

All that, and you didn't offer a definition of "earning your money". Nice deflection. Are you suggesting that because someone has it, they've earned it?

And it’s “their” definition of fair, let’s not forget that.

Stef, it's true. Life is inherently unfair already. Its not about that and its never been about that. Its about making society as balanced, just and sustainable as possible. We dont need to pile on an already unfair system. The system is also really short sighted and stupid.
-
Here in lies the problem. “Balanced, just and sustainable” to me means not stealing from me in a vain attempt to achieve these goals.

This is where the whole "abolish private property" comes in. Somewhere between Communism and Capitalism is a fulcrum that is ideal, but idealogues have a hard time finding it. We dont admit it. We attach intelligence on the side of our error and then argue our position to folly.
