In hind-sight, maybe we should have picked the cotton ourselves.

Private police forces? Private fire services? You don't foresee any difficulties in their privatisation?

These people see the chaos of the third world and spectacularly wrongly assume they have a lack of regulation and government.

The point is that the service cannot be provided to all communities. FDA, cops, infrastructure, disaster relief, etc. require billions of dollars that will not be available on a local/state level. Donations and privatization won't be near enough to pick up that kind of slack.

If the government has to clean up the streets, it is governing an unclean people.
