Bono: pretentious twat slags the free market that made him rich while women sell themselves and their kids for food and medicine in socialist Venezuela. I didn’t know the song “I still haven’t found what I’m looking for” referred to his first clue about economics and ethics.https://twitter.com/DailyCaller/status/1088938459627118592 …

Agreed. Pretentious is the right word. It’s easy to be socialist when you have lots of money.

QUESTION: Why is bono speaking at world political meetings????? He's just a rock singer. Thats like merrill streep speaking at the state of the union.

Not even. He sold it to Apple at a reduced price to promote his upcoming tour after U2’s previous album didn’t meet expectations. Marketing for tour, promotion of band and exposure to potentially new customers all sounds pretty capitalistic.

Maybe the most famous Irishman on the planet with a megaphone beyond any we possess might voice his concern for his homeland. Weigh in on the plight of the country.

Did you even read it? Here is a little bit, “Capitalism has taken more people out of poverty than any other ‘ism,'” he added. “But it is a wild beast that, if not tamed, can chew up a lot of people along the way.” The title is misleading, he did say that, but it’s out of context.

And he called capitalism "amoral" - I was shocked at that, I thought he seemed quite objective.

Amoral is not the same as immoral. He didn’t intend to suggest that capitalism is Inherently bad. I think he knows that it has raised the standard of living for billions.

I used to love Bono as an Irish hero and idol. Now I realize he is heavily part of the Cabal. : (

He is not advocating socialism or communism. He also states the capitalism has pulled more people out of poverty then any other “ism” Don’t see the point of some of the venom.

Yes, people from #Africa, #CF, #Haiti, and other third-world countries who bring nothing to the table, and are grifters by choice made out well by his largesse Despite the fact that he made his fortune and career in the US, poor whites, Hispanics, or blacks never benefitted. @U2

Didn't he say he was thankful for capitalism, because it produces the wealth that allows for philanthropy just a few years ago? Hmm. Seems every celebrity gets Hollywood in their heads after a while. It was sad when it happened to Neal Peart, too.
