What we really all want is predictability. In our interactions with those we live alongside. This lets us relax, instead of constantly having to be on edge and on guard. Shared culture and values, provides that.

In general yes. however, as a white middle class, I will not fit well with Clampetts or Paris Hiltons of this world. For me it has to be the same values, behavior and outlook on life. As an immigrant to US, I have tried my best to assimilate and hope for the same from others

Take a look at any university, California or Europe and tell me how reliable race is as a predictor of your values

Generally speaking, probably. That being said, my neighborhood is comprised of Caucasians, Africans and Asians, all sharing enough similar values to not only coexist, but to be very good neighbors.

In no wise is race a predictor of morals nor values. Statistics prove it. Clinical psychologist here.

Not an argument

Race predicts values b/c this not b/c race: “Cult’l compatibility is soc&econ efficiency. When... working & raising kids, communities req shared values. It’s diff when you’re in college, [w/] time to explore the exotic. Can you have a babysitter w/foreign language/values? Basic.”

Many people hide their loyalties....even for many generations. This is why people only put their truest trust in their closest of family members.

Values are a very reliable predictor of values though...

And religion.
