Serious question, if you see this. Mass support for the Welfare State was obviously a reaction to the abject poverty of the 19th & early 20th c. Do you think education & some form of Bismarckism would have redistributed income & prosperity sufficiently to avoid revolution?

Some time ago I heard JBP and I think Haidt (could be wrong) talk about the 20% of population with an IQ below 86 and the correlation between the 20% on welfare. I am prob off on numbers but it seemed they suggested correlation. Please share your thoughts.

Welfare is socialism in disguise. It appeals to people who would rather sell their vote for freebees. To much of a good thing does get bad. In nature, even in parks, visitors are warned to not feed the animals. It is human nature to give, but naive to give without good results.
