Evolution doesn’t deal with “superiority.” only best adaptation to local environments. A shark is a superior swimmer to a lion, does that mean that the lion is genetically inferior to the shark?https://twitter.com/ThoughtCrimin16/status/1088447833508929536 …

Isn’t it genetically superior to have a high IQ?

Rly disturbing that ppl atribute that a life has more value or worth for having higher intelligence and therefore thinks its immorale to speak the truth....10% of the population have a iq of under 85 and get labled lazy where there is no job for them in our today society

Europeans and East Asians probably evolved higher iq, because their survival depended on them being smarter. They both had to contend with winter and had great rivalries against even their own kind. In Africa, they didn’t have to deal with winter and had plenty of game.

Both of those populations have well documented histories of the upper classes and governments afflicting heinous abuses upon their populations at a whim. You had to outsmart such unmerited violence or more populations would be only in books.

In the mountains of Asia it was very evolutionarily adaptive to figure out how many points the next star has in the sequenece

To be fair in zero sum resource shared environments it literally is called survival of the fittest.

When it comes to humanity, having a high IQ theoretically should enhance that person's ability to survive. Of course, it must be noted I'm referring to an overall high IQ, not merely someone with a genius in one narrow field.

what a lot of people don’t consider are societal contexts, in a tribal society having a high iq is detrimental because youre more likely to question authority, which in a rigid societal structure like that is a death sentence.

I get that, although you could argue the smart person would see that and be self-restrained, but I do get your point.

Lord, yes. SO true. Our culture overvalues intellect, and not just intellect but intellect of a certain sort. I believe we are on the cusp of an age that renders that advantage largely moot, just as guns helped minimize the advantage of physical strength in combat.

Our culture *undervalues* intellect. Look at the dross being produced by the 'entertainment' industry. It's all about catering to the lowest common denominator - not the work of people who value intelligence.

I think it’s more likely that there is some Dunning-Kruger going on: celebs and execs think they are smarter than they are, and one must teach the children at the child’s level.
