The people moving to Canada aren't those who are typically on welfare though. Look up the Canadian immigration program it's for people with masters degree who have at least a few years of experience and are qualified in the English language.

That's not true. Of the 250,000+ immigrants in 2017 roughly 60,000 were skilled and probably less than that were what we'd consider 'profesional' The rest were dependent on our social welfare systems in one way or another and many will remain so indefinitely.

Agree 100%

I was talking about that specific immigration program. The immigrants pay to get in. I did that myself. Entire process involves more than $3K in expenses. You have to have $15K in cash. I myself have an undergrad in engineering and graduate degree in business + 7 years work ex.

I misunderstood There are programs that target specifically skilled and professional people,no doubt. The basic policy though is a mess and it's bankrupting an already hobbled country
-
I think I probably should have been more clear. This was in response to a post from
@an_capitalist which talked about Canadian government needing more immigrants through a program to bring more skilled workers to Canada. -
No worries. Clarity is good
I was quick to jump but the landing was hard

I agree Stefan. I hope America doen't become an extension of Latin America. And I say so despite the fact that I'm argentinian, living in Argentina (extreme leftist country). I really admire how America developed (until 1913).

Drug trafficking is a problem caused by the war on drugs. Drugs should be legal, all of them.

If you want another example like Rome, study the history of Argentina from 1880 to 1930, then from there to 1945, finally from then to nowadays. Our GDP per capita was between the highest 5 until 1945. Now we're a shame as a country.
