Don’t you think there might be a cultural factor involved?

If you move the Japanese to Mexico, and the Mexicans to Japan, Japan would no longer be Japan, and Mexico would no longer be Mexico.

Wow that's a big one. But honestly if majority are so far on the other end of the debate, and especially when talking about big-world highest average stuff. Welp yeah sure let's lay these two out and look at the evidence.

I have really pissed people off with this fact ... and it's really entertaining to watch people struggle with objectively verifiable facts that challenge their ideology. Not at all unlike watching someone try to swim up a waterfall.

Bret Weinstein; "culture is upstream from biology/genes" -Why? Because the brain that it the carrier of culture is a product of evolution/genes. Genes can shot down "culture" if it is not in their interests.

The only 'cultural element' I can think of that has a heavy influence on IQ is cousin marriage.

But culture can be separated from race and genes. So what’s driving IQ differences, culture or genes?http://www.unz.com/article/the-iq-gap-is-no-longer-a-black-and-white-issue/ …

Valid questions, but I can't find your argument in your sources. I think Stef's reasoning is that average IQ shapes what cultures people create. IQ being largely hereditary connects race to IQ, making it a chain of Race-IQ-Culture, even if cultures can influence and be adopted.

I think the problem is in assuming that because there is a hereditary component to IQ, that means IQ is tied to race. IQ increased substantially across many white ethnicities as the assimilated. Much of Northern Europeans culture also wasn’t indigenous but adopted.

Race is hereditary too - that's what makes races... Race is an extended family, and what runs in the family is simply there by heritage - height, color, IQ, etc. But two short persons may sometimes produce a tall child, perhaps starting off a new family tree of tall(er) persons.

Essentially all cultures are adopted, but what parts, from where and how much? If IQ is 70-80% genetic, environmental factors (like culture) are still responsible for at least 20-30% under ideal circumstances, but likely much more since so many factors can stunt IQ development.
