This might be one reason why you get janitors at Goldman Sachs with 150 IQs. They were 'too smart' to be cops, not IYI enough for academia, too willing to tell the truth for media. Although to be fair being a janitor at Goldman Sachs must rank as the very top of the profession.

I was just thinking about this recently. Can't have individuals with a high enough IQ, they tend to think too much, too quickly to take and follow orders (especially ones they know will not result in good).

Not surprising. It makes sense as cops need to be of subservient nature. In Ireland you need a grade D3 in five subjects. The next grade down is a failure. Then we wonder why things go wrong with these people.

I remember researching this. I beleive this was purposely done to get police more prone to following orders instead of a constitutional oath. Also it may have been done to have more compliant officers while the transfer to a police state was taking place.

Can't have cops able to critically assess a situation. . . cuts into the body count.

Last time I met a cop that wasn't a prime candidate for wood-chipping was in 1978.

There is a maths test in the UK, but for 'under-represented categories' this part of the entrance procedure is waived. Someone applying told me this.

The New London Police Department did not offer him a job because of his inteligence but because of theirs. He presented a threat to them and their silos.
