Indigenous people take billions of dollars of mostly white tax dollars using the coercive power of the State. But please, tell me more about how white people took stuff 200 years ago. Current exploitation is more important than historical exploitation. Only one can be changed.

We didn’t just “take stuff.” We stole a continent and we committed genocide.

Right! Because each person is born into a vacuum-sealed tube which removes them from any family or historical context. Good point!

*Indigenous leaders I think everyone can agree that all parties would be better off if the State stopped "helping" indigenous peoples.

It’s amazing how little you know about Quebec history. The treaties are why you’re Canadian today. It created Canada’s sovereignty. How don’t you know your own history?

700k indians did not inhabit the entire US and did not have land deeds or claims to lands. Indian common law was all about conquest and the weaker subdue to the conquerer. But cute story. See comanches over apaches

Here, in Brasil, indigenous people receive special cares from the government, and, not satisfied yet, they take illegal taxes from travelling people in some roads.

Fun. So if I visit your country, I might be stopped by some people, and asked to give money because they are aboriginal people? ... Hope your new president will do something about this

If you travel by a desert road, there is a probability. Our new president, @jairbolsonaro , says that indigenous people are just people, but some people considers this is racism.

You cannot have one with the other. Present exploitation stems from historical exploitation. Surely, you do not believe that we just arrived into this mess from thin air. That's an exercise in idiocy. You cannot change one without acknowledgment and reversal of the other.
