Idiots always act like its amazing that violence is institutionalized. NO! What makes violence normal...even acceptable...is when its institutionalized. What made the Comanche so terrible was that they utilized violence indiscriminately against anyone who wasn't them.

I read a book on history of Texas. Many of the early settlers in Texas lived in fear of their live from Comanche raids. I remember one story about how Comanches picked up a baby settler, held the baby by the leg, and forcefully swung the babies head into a tree.
