Serious question: could the construct of IQ be flawed as people may take this metric as the indicator of all intelligence when it us not?

Doesnt IQ simply measure a possible outcome or ability to have intelligence? A man with an IQ of 160 who sits around wasting his life away on menial tasks will not be as intelligent as a man with an IQ of 120 who spends his life having meaningful, fulfilling experiences.

It's short-hand that basically everyone uses, including accredited intelligence experts. Especially helpful on limited word platforms like Twitter.

Stunning how so many are making this more complex than it is. Kind of ironic, too.

"Intelligence Quotient Test." Well, that's why it's not called the intelligence test. What a woke take.

Intelligence quotient ≠ general intelligence. Your overall IQ is a cumulative raw score sourced from several different cognition measurements - but only some of those scores are strongly corrolated with your "g factor" aka general intelligence.

It's more a measure of western intelligence. We really don't have much need for hunter gatherer intelligence.

Same underlying infrastructure - pattern recognition, memory, problem-solving. With a test properly gauged for them hunter-gatherers would likely not differ too much from westerners.

An intelligence quotient is a total score derived from several standardized tests designed to assess human intelligence https://www.123test.com/interpretation-of-an-iq-score/ …
