I only have 1 simple question... How do you determine the center of infinity?

-
The universe is finite
-
Well stated. Theres also the issue of measuring something we dont know the limits of.
-
“They” seem to believe they have accounted for all the matter in the universe , hence “their” need for the mysterious and theoretical dark matter.
-
They have not even mapped the entire ocean floor, but they want us to believe that they have discovered the edge of space, and everything in it. Perhaps I also have too low an IQ to comprehend this. In my opinion, we have very few actual scientist and a large number of cultists..
-
Agreed. Let's come to this compromise. The universe is by all our means infinitely large. It may very well have an end. But it's way to big for us to know at this time. My instincts tell me to never accept terms like infinit.
-
Infinity is just the word we use to describe the unknowable measure. If the universe was not infinite, we would know its volume and mass by now. They can tell me how big the universe is as soon as they can tell me how many grains of sand we have on earth...
-
I disagree about "if the universe was not infinite" part. We have not even left our own solar system. All we know is what we can see.. that means we can see around 13bil light years. That could only be 0.000001% of the universe. That even if our start was the only start..

A horse too easily curried. Our standpoint is here on earth. We see the planets, Sun, Moon, revolve in the same narrow ecliptic Ptolemy saw. If you were on Mars you'd weigh 80 lbs, but that's irrelevant; here on earth, you're not.

Motion is relative. The sun is the center.

At the time, it was a simpler explanation, and Occam's razor says to go with that. Later is was learned the sun orbits the milky way, and this explains motion better than heliocentrism. But the milky way isn't fixed either and rotates as a binary with andromeda.

wrong is wrong, there is no such thing as less wrong. While you are at it, could you define a 'month'.

To say that a potato is a fruit is less wrong than to say a potato is a suspension bridge.

Is it really IQ or the sentiment of honesty that keeps individuals from breaking the law established for the common good ? Does not require a very high IQ.

Technically, since we've never seen or identified the true "edges" of the universe, we don't know that our sun isn't the center.
-
Cosmology today says there is no center. It is like saying, what is the center of the surface of the sphere? That's a 2d/3d analogy, but for the 3d/4d universe it is similar.
-
Any discussion of the pure size of the universe makes the mind boggle.

According to Relativity you could model it either way. I'll grant the Heliocentric model is a lot simpler, but no more correct.
