It can also mean that you discover new elements through your ideas. So no, it doesn't necessarily mean that they were wrong and changed their views. Example: you know subtraction exists, but then you subtract 10 from 5 and you get a negative number, a concept you did not know of.

Or, one could be saying, my ideas have changed, and they still may be wrong, but they are different now. Pretty much we should all be like that, or we are denying the possibility of new information that will affect us again.
