From kindergarten onwards every guidance counselor I had said, "Do this to go to college." Never did one say, do this to become an expert stonemason, or carpenter, etc...It's all a complete sham.

I tried university and it wasn't for me. I am grateful there's an alternative industry. At the moment I'm taking another CompTIA certification which is much cheaper than a university course.

Just get a marketable skill that’s in demand. That’s all you need. You can work your way up if you put in extra effort. Good luck.

Exactly. The cream always rises to the top. If you’re good and work hard, it’ll happen.

Is weightlifting only for strong people? Education may not make people smart but perhaps it can assist them in reaching their full genetic potential?

The problem generally is that there is no discremenation by major when it comes to student loans. If all student loans were private, the interest rates for fem studies would be much higher than for an engineer, reflecting the risk of the former not being productive.

IQ has no correlation to whether you should get a degree or not, nor whether you can. Hell, business majors usually aren't too bright, yet they can usually get a job. We do not live in a meritocracy. You just like to pretend we do, because it props up all your shallow nonsense.

I blame their parents too. A parent shouldn’t let a kid get into private school debt. 2 years of community college then 2 years of state school MAX. And only if they can graduate with a marketable skill that is in demand.
