"no appreciation" O.o; what? so this woman is suggesting she'd rather be chasing the approval of other people, than be near her family.

Specialization is essential for human flourishing. Let some specialize in caring for kids (eg. Run a home daycare) and let other people specialize in their career. The problem with daycare is it's institutionalized like orphanages. Nothing wrong with a woman enjoying her career.

Not like that. It's more optimal to be a jack of all trades and a master of one. And one would hope it's a mastery of motherhood. There is a problem in enjoying one's career AT THE EXPENSE of their children. Obviously.

Youare so stupid. It was only the upper classes whose wives and mothers did not work. Almosg all throughout history it was not economically viable for women not to work.

If your kids bore you, then you're doing it wrong.

I chatted with my mum about this. She said women should be paid alimony and never vice versa, and women go to work because looking after their kids is too much hard work for them. She then said she wished she could have worked instead of looking after us

Will you drop her in a retirement home and tell her you're too busy with work to visit her? That seems like a plan.
